The Wildacre Cabin

Just a few steps from the porch, a clear mountain stream curves in front of the cabin. The cabin is nestled into a little valley surrounded by mountains, at the edge of the Chattahoochee National Forest. It's the only cabin, situated on 40 acres.

Campfire Ring

Relax by the fire, enjoy s'mores or hot dogs, toast your toes and enjoy the star-studded night sky. If you're fortunate, you might catch a shooting star or two. No city lights here to dull the show.

Screened Porch

Chill out & enjoy the view from the rockers or the twig swing. Table & chairs for creekside dining. There's a barrel with campfire forks & walking sticks, and a chest with lawn games including badminton, volleyball, croquet, etc. Water tubes & toys are provided during warm weather.

Sugar Creek

Kids love playing in the creek, and we supply tubes & floaties for the youngsters & young at heart. Sugar Creek is a DNR-designated trout stream. Sitting in lawn chairs in the creek with the water flowing over our feet is wonderfully relaxing.

Hiking Trails

There's a delightful hiking trail on the property, the remnant of the Old Federal Road, on which wagons crossed the mountain to Ellijay. Also, less than half a mile north on Dennis Mill Road is the Pinhoti trailhead parking lot. The Pinhoti Trail connects with the Appalachian Trail at Benton McKaye.

Gardens

Guests may enjoy produce from the vegetable garden while visiting Wildacre. The cottage garden adjoining the cabin has a rose-covered trellis, picket fence & 4 beds of flowers, herbs & roses. There are wildflower beds in front of the cabin, and many native shrubs & wildflowers grow naturally on the property.

Grills & Picnic Tables

For the convenience of our guests, a gas grill is located just outside the kitchen door. There's a park-style charcoal grill near the picnic tables beside the creek.

Cabin Interior

There are two comfortable bedrooms with adjoining baths, a sunny eat-in kitchen, a comfortable living room with wood-burning fireplace and a large-screen TV with streaming. Wi-Fi works all the way to the campfire ring!

Shooting Range

The shooting range is located on the other side of the cottage garden from the cabin. There are metal & paper targets & a shooting bench. The shooting range backs up to the base of the mountain behind the cabin. Pistols & .22 rifles may be used.
